The last weekend in March we went to Prague. It was an awesome weekend full of fun, sight-seeing, meeting old friends, and warm weather. Big thanks to everybody who joined!

We visited Dog shelter in Budějovice with students 11. 3. 2014. We took 4 beautiful dogs on walk in Stromovka park. One of the dog we had was recently injured by car, but was high spirited and loved the walking outside even with the back problem.
We really enjoyed the sunny day.
In Café Klub Slávie we had our summer welcome semester party 19th February 2014. We especially welcomed the new coming students in summer term and also to meet with students from winter term again on great party. Our rector Libor Grubhofer also joined us and welcomed the students at the University and in České Budějovice. Party was amazing, you can check pictures:

We prepared for students Orientation walk so they can get to know our campus, its surroundings and Ceske Budejovice better.The walk was on Sunday 16.2.2014 and more than half of newcomers had joined.Despite strong cold wind the walk was very enjoyable and our mentor Andrea showed students interesting places, landmarks and told them basic information about Budejovice and its history.

On Saturday 7th December we had a Christmas Party in Cafe club Slavie. As most of the Erasmus students leave before Christmas it was also the last party of the winter term. At the beginning there was a presentation with pictures from all winter term events and short theatre play about typical Czech Christmas habits. Later we could have a small snack, taste some Czech Christmas food and enjoy the party with DJ Aldar and Jesus until the early morning hours.

From Saturday 23 to Sunday 24th of November we had a trip to Vienna.
We saw lot of famous sights, taste local specialties like Viennese Sacher cake or sausage and visited Christmas markets. We also visited Schönbrunn castle. The weather was not so good, it was rainy, even so everyone really enjoyed the trip.
On Tuesday 22.10. we had Karaoke party in Media Bar with our international students and mentors. It was great fun and evening full of joyfull moments.
The week 14.-18.10. 2013 was first ever International week held by University of South Bohemia.
International Student Club also took part of it and participated and organized several events.
On Monday 14.10. we organized workshop called ERASMUS IN and OUT, students get all necessary information about program Erasmus, how to apply, how the program works and they also got some tips when and where to go. Another part was about international students coming to University and what is their experience here and how we help them.
On Tuesday 15.10. we prepared a game called WORLD PUZZLE. Students could test their knowledge from geography, culture and history of different countries. There were 5 stages acording to continents: Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and America… On each stage there was a quiz connected with that continent.
On Wednesday 16.10. there was INTERNATIONAL FAIR in canteen. International Student Club, partner universities and organizations presented the possibilities of study and involvement for students.
In the evening we had small GASTRO FEST in Café Klub Slávie where also was a concert. Our international students prepared several meals for tasting: Tzatziky from Greece, Pirohy from Poland, Tortilla de patatas from Spain, typical bread from France, baked apples with curd from Ukraine, potato pancakes, sweet pancakes and sweet pies from Czech Republic.
On Thursday 17.10. we had final workshop for students about enhancing your memory skills, because especially in foreign country there are so many things you need to focus on and be able to function. Se we did a special workshop called BRAIN ABROAD.
On Sunday the 13th of October could students see traditional czech craft „the fishering out“. There was prepared fish speciality from carp and other freshwater fish. There was a possibility to do sightseeing, visit the Třeboň Castle or see the Schwarzemberg tomb after the fishing out. Třeboň is very beautiful historical town. It was established around the middle of the 12th century. In 1366 the House of Rožmberk become owner of the estate. The weather was good and everyone enjoyed the show.
The Rožmberk Pond is the largest fishpond in the Czech Republic. It is 489 ha in area. The name of the pond comes from the owners of the Trebon domain, the Rozmberk family.The famous Czech pond builder Jakub Krcin built this unique waterwork in the 16th century.
